Friends of the Museum and Witchcraft and Magick held their AGM on Saturday (2nd Dec) and as per usual the Trustees and the Museum had planned something special; two talks to the proceedings.
The first was from Geraldine Beskin (Atlantis Bookshop) who spoke about The Dark Side of Christmas. An interesting exploration of some of the ‘darker’ Yuletide/Christmastide traditions punctuated with some super images.
The second was from Maxine Sanders, an elder and High Priestess of the Craft. (The title Witch Queen has been used). Her session which was in the form of a question and answer – In Conversation With – was as refreshing as it was relevant. With some clear reminders about the background to Alexandrian Witchcraft and some challenging comments about the current state of Wicca, Maxine’s poise and wisdom shone through.
In terms of the AGM, well the Museum has had a great year and is really building upon it’s reputation as a centre for the History of Folklore of Witchcraft and Magick. As Maxine said in her talk, it is The Heart of Witchcraft of Magick in the UK.
Consider supporting the Museum by becoming a FRIEND of the MWM and by attending their excellent events and ‘happenings’.
