Witches Market – Review
So Saturday and The Witches Market is done for this year…
With over 150 visitors in the first hour and 450 by 4pm, in terms of footfall, we could say that this event was a success.
The posted reviews have been overwhelming…

Witches market..a really great morning, thanks so much Sue Edwards. A major success.
SO A BIG THANK YOU to all those who were so positive and supportive in their engagement before the event, during the day and afterwards.
There was a real ‘vibe’ and ‘energy’ during the day and that not only came from the visitors, but from the stall holders (over 45 different stalls) and their overall positivity.
As with all events of this kind, there are the occasional ripples in the pond of ‘general harmony’ but such are far outweighed by the good-will and desire to bring people together. From the tireless work of the volunteers who helped Sue specifically (Cathy, Ty and Ky); to the voices of encouragement when the going got tough (Sarah, Emma, Cathy, Selkie) and the community feel which came to the immediate assistance of a fellow trader who required some specific assistance at the end of the day.
“It is what I was hoping“, said Sue, “that such an event could bring out the best in our community as well as create an opportunity for people outside of it to learn a little more about what we’re all about”
There’s already an interest in the next event, which is 23rd and 24th June 2018.
“We want to make these markets special so that people want to attend, so it is important to create space between each one.” said Sue.
So the two weekend long Witches Markets are booked for next year…
The 23rd and 24th June, which coincides with Solstice-time celebrations and the 15th and 16th December, which are close to Yule. This weekend will also coincide with a Witches Ball, on the 15th, which will be held at the Acorn Theatre. The first live act is being booked for that date has been booked and more news will follow shortly.
